"Have it!": Part 2

If you read my previous post, you'll notice that my little "Josh Man" wants everything he sees.

AND this INCLUDES food!

This little guy will try anything! He still loves his broccoli casseroles, mac and cheese casseroles, and squash casseroles.

But he surprised us one day when we were eating. My husband had some hot pickles he was eating with his meal. It just wouldn't do for Joshua. He HAD to try one. And he holds out his hands. Here's the conversation on THIS one!

Joshua: Try it! Pickle.

Me: But baby, you probably won't like these pickles. They are very hot!

Joshua: Want it.

Me: They are HOT baby.

Hubby: They are very hot. You won't like them.

Joshua: Getting upset. Want it!

My husband and I looked at each other and were in agreement to just let him find out himself how hot those pickles were. He handed Joshua the pickle. Josh smiles and is excited.

And he bites down and chews. And looks over at me and goes "Oh."

And he continues to chew and swallow. It doesn't bother him!

My hubby and I looked at each other in amazement.

Joshua also LOVES bread in any form. Loaf bread, biscuits, hamburger buns. Just bread.

If we are eating and he's already finished his meal, but he sees one of us with bread somewhere on our plates, he wants some. Or he'll ask to get down and he'll go to the person and get on his lap and start trying to pinch off our bread.

He'll eat the hamburger bun right off the meat!

He did try hamburger helper (with turkey) one day, but he didn't finish. I told him if he wanted a jelly sandwich, I'd fix it. I didn't expect he'd like the hamburger helper.

He doesn't eat "fastfood" unless its fries or a shake or chicken from Chick-Fil-A. He likes "homemade food." He doesn't like the microwaveable kid's food. He'll take a bite, and won't finish.

But I don't mind a bit.
