An Angel in my Dad's Car!

I've been trying to figure out exactly how to start this particular blog. Do I start it with the scripture saying that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord? Or the one saying that He will give his angels charge over us to keep us? Or I will say of the Lord He is my refuge my Fortress, my God, in Him will I trust? Or don't put off telling family members just how much you love them...................

My dad is a very friendly person. He loves to talk! He had a yard sale last week and made a "friend," he thought. That same "friend" went down to my dad's house within the next couple of days after the yard sale and told him that he was late for work and could he (my dad) give him a ride there. Dad gave him a ride, but what happened next was something that we'd think only happened to another person. When my dad went to turn in at this guy's job, the guy told my dad to keep going. My dad turned in anyway. This made the guy mad and he pulled out a knife. My dad stopped, honked the horn to try to get attention, but that was cut short because by this time, my dad was having to fight to keep his throat from being totally slit. My dad is 76 yrs old and the other guy was 33. Dad pushed the guys hand/knife away with one hand and popped him upside the head with the other! He hit him so hard that it stunned the guy and he got out of the truck and ran off into the woods. Now dad still had 3 cuts in his throat and a cut hand, but I know that God had his angels taking care of my dad and those angels put their arm and hand in my dad's arm and hand to give him strength.

Well, needless to say, this made the television news and newspapers. My dad was absolutely FLOODED with phone calls and from people that he hadn't heard from in a VERY long time. (He's doing very well, by the way). Every time he hung up the phone, it rang again. There was one time I'd called him, and while I was talking to him, he received a couple of calls. I finally had to hang up and let him take those calls. Call, after call, after call!

The attack was bad, but God turned it around for good. Dad needed to hear from people. He needed to hear from family. He needed for people to visit him, and that's exactly what happened. But the flip side of this is that everyone waited until he was attacked to call. Somethings wrong with this picture....................

But like I said, he's doing very well now and calls himself "Blessed."

Hi HolyMama,

I love your blog!! I read it at work and have to watch myself if I get too tickled....... :o)

You know, I read that the guy actually turned himself in. Interesting.... His girlfriend saw his picture on the news/newspaper and then he just turned himself in. I would've expected him to keep running.....But we know a good God and He's in control!!
